The Commonwealth Bank has been an active member
of the Australian community for 100 years and is a proud partner of the Breast
Cancer Institute of Australia and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of
Australia.
The Bank encourages its staff to undertake
community causes. Sam Boer, General Manager Broker Sales, Service and Cross
Sell and Phil Chant, Executive Manager, Third Party Banking Credit Training
took part in this year’s The World’s Greatest Shave and raised just under
$13,000. The World’s Greatest Shave is a fund raising effort to help raise
money and awareness of The Leukaemia Foundation.
Sam Boer said “We always do crazy things for
charity and this seemed like a good idea for a great cause. Phil Chant said he
would shave his head for $5,000 and I said I would if we got $10,000. I’m
buoyed by the fact that we raised nearly $13,000 and am humbled by the support
we have had.”
Phil Chant said “I believe our Preferred Partner
days allow us to show our commitment to community challenges. I am overwhelmed
by the generosity of individuals and corporations who sponsored us. I have
participated previously and would gladly step up again in the future.”Through
our people, community partnerships, sponsorships and the Commonwealth Bank
Foundation, we invest time and money into programs that benefit Australian
communities. Our commitment to these partnerships helps guide communities and
organisations to achieve outcomes that make a genuine impact on everyday
Australians.
